Nassau Man Touched Women Shopping At Walmart: Police

Police say he inappropriately touched multiple women at different stores across the county.

UNIONDALE, NY — Nassau County police arrested a man they say inappropriately touched multiple women at different Walmarts across the area.

According to police, officers were called to the Walmart at 1220 Old Country Road in Westbury at 6 p.m. on July 30. When they arrived, a 27-year-old woman told them that she was touched by a man in the store.

The officers began searching the store, but did not find the man. Police say an investigation led them to Benjamin Francis, 32, of Clinton Avenue, Uniondale. He was arrested at his home on July 31.

Police say that their investigation found that Francis had touched other women on different occasions. Police say he touched a 28-year-old woman at the Walmart at 1123 Jerusalem Ave. in Uniondale on June 13, and an 18-year-old woman at the Walmart at 2465 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow on July 11.

Francis is charged with three counts of forcible touching. He is scheduled to be arraigned today.
