Nassau Motel Fire Displaces 30 People

The Pines Motor Lodge in Westbury caught fire early Tuesday morning, according to reports.

WESTBURY, NY — A fire at a motel in Westbury has displaced more than two dozen people, but did not injure anyone.

The fire started in Room 213 of the Pines Motor Lodge, located at 101 Taylor Ave., at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the top of the building.

Firefighters managed to get the fire under control, and had it extinguished in about 30 minutes. Everyone was evacuated from the building. According to News 12, a firefighter and a child staying at the motel received minor injuries.

Newsday reported that about 30 people were displaced due to the fire.
