1. 21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After School Bus Crash In Hicksville: PD (patch.com) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist from East Meadow died after colliding with a school bus near Hicksville Middle School Tuesday morning, according to Nassau County police. No students on the bus were injured, and Hicksville school officials say counseling and support will be available as the investigation into the crash continues.
   

2. Royal Caribbean Guests Denied Boarding On Departure Day Leads To Arrest Of Their Travel Agent In New Jersey (thetravel.com) — An East Meadow woman who ran a Long Island travel agency has been arrested on fraud and larceny charges after customers say they paid tens of thousands of dollars for trips, including a Royal Caribbean cruise, that were never booked. Nassau County police are seeking additional potential victims, and consumer advocates are stressing the importance of checking reviews and Better Business Bureau ratings before paying for travel.
   

3. $100K grant aids Island Harvest's mission on L.I. (liherald.com) — A major new $100,000 grant to Island Harvest will help feed Long Islanders in need, including families in Nassau County communities like East Meadow. The food bank’s CEO, once honored as an East Meadow Herald Person of the Year, says the support will bolster year-round hunger relief efforts that already distribute millions of pounds of food across the county.

ICE blows past federal deadline mandating report on Nassau jail death (newsday.com) — A man died last year while held in an East Meadow jail cell, and federal immigration officials have missed a legal deadline to release a full report on his death.
