Potter's Pub Announces Closure

In a Facebook announcement Monday night, Potter's Pub told patrons they would be shuttering the East Meadow bar and eatery Saturday.

The post read:

We're not happy campers :-( After 41 years of serving the East Meadow community we will be turning our lights off forever on Sat night. We want to thank everyone who has always supported us. We will sadly miss you all. Thanks for our 23 years.

Potters cited "the economy" as the reason for the closure.

"...can't keep going," they wrote in a follow up Facebook post.

The pub staff will be in attendance Saturday night for one last hurrah. 

Potter's is located at 2045 Hempstead Turnpike. It has served as a neighborhood bar, restaurant and all-around hangout spot since 1972. Mike Amitrano took over as owner in 1990.
