'Robert Is Smart And A Helper': East Meadow Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one resident who is having an impact in East Meadow.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Sabrina Camilo who nominated her son Robert, of East Meadow.
Star local student’s name
Robert, Grade 7
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Robert has maintained excellent grades (has been on Honor Roll for every report card period), while being active in extracurricular activities and doing community service/volunteer work. Robert is part of his school's Jazz Ensemble, has performed at Adelphi University and is part of his school's Lego Robotics club. He is a member of the Teen Advisory Board at East Meadow Public Library, and has done multiple volunteer projects through the library, including collecting food for Island Harvest and helping the Children's Room librarians run a 3D Printing Class.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Robert is smart and a helper. He very much enjoys learning but he enjoys being of service to his community even more.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Robert!
