Uniondale Library Locked Down Over Threats To Employees: Nassau Police

A man has been arrested, police said.

UNIONDALE, NY — The Uniondale Library went into lockdown Thursday morning after a man announced that he was going to shoot library employees, according to Nassau police.

Officers responded at 9:25 a.m. to the library at 400 Uniondale Ave.

After a preliminary investigation they found Curtis Desir, 29, outside the library and placed him into custody without incident. No firearm was recovered and no injuries were reported, police said.

Desir, a Brooklyn resident, is charged with making a terroristic threat and two counts of third-degree menacing. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, police said.
