2 From NYC Fired Guns On Nassau Street: Police
Police say they found more than a dozen shell casings at the site of the shooting.

INWOOD, NY — Two New York City residents were arrested following a shooting in Inwood early this morning, Nassau County police said.
According to police, two officers from the Nassau County Police Department's Bureau of Special Operations were on patrol in the Five Towns at 12:30 a.m. area when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Walcott Avenue — a residential area with apartments. Police say the officers found 18 shell casings and three bullet fragments in the area.
Officers began to search the area and received a description of two people involved in the shooting. Police say it is unclear if subjects were shooting at another person, or just shooting rounds from their guns.

A short time later, police say the officers saw three people in Terrace Garden Park, a short distance from the site of the shooting. Two of the people matched the descriptions police had received earlier.
As the officers approached, police say Satoya McCoy, 31, of Far Rockaway, was seen throwing a black and silver Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun to the ground. The gun had an illegal 16 round, high-capacity magazine, and was reported stolen from North Carolina.

Police say the second suspect — Rashawn Williams, 38, of Far Rockaway — actively resisted arrest by flailing his arms and ignoring orders from officers. Additional officers arrived at the scene, police said, and were able to police Williams under arrest. Police say he had a loaded grey and black Colt .45 caliber handgun on him, which had been reported stolen from West Virginia.
The third person in the park, a Bronx man, was arrested for being in the park after sunset, and was released on an appearance ticket.
McCoy is charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (ammunition feeding device). She is scheduled to be arraigned today. Police say she had an open Nassau County Bench Warrant for felony charges from 2018.
Williams is charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
