Car, Garage Broken Into In Nassau: Police
Thomas Taylor was charged with attempted burglary for the early Tuesday incident, police said.

CEDARHURST, NY — A man broke into the car and garage of a Cedarhurst homeowner, police said.
Thomas Taylor, 53, of East Meadow, was observed on surveillance video, before sunrise Tuesday, entering the victim's vehicle, where he removed items without permission, police said.
Taylor then opened the garage door with a remote located in the vehicle. He entered the garage and fled on foot without taking additional items, authorities said.

An investigation led police to a home in Inwood, where Taylor was taken into custody without incident, police said.
He is charged with second-degree attempted burglary and petit larceny. Taylor was expected to be arraigned on Wednesday. Additionally, Taylor had an open bench warrant for a 2018 incident in Inwood, charging him with criminal mischief and petit larceny.
