INWOOD, NY — A woman was arrested on Friday night in Inwood for drunken driving with a young child in her vehicle, police said.
Yajaira Castillo, 44, of Inwood, was driving in a "dangerous manner" with a two-year-old girl southbound in the northbound lanes on Nassau Expressway, police said.
Castillo was located with slurred speech, watery eyes, an odor from her breath and appeared to be unsteady on her feet, resulting in positive results on the field sobriety test. authorities said.

She was placed under arrest without incident and the vehicle was impounded, police said.
The toddler was released into the custody of a family member, police said.

No injuries were reported.
Castillo is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated (child under 16) Leandra’s Law and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
She was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday.
