Nassau Home Badly Damaged From Fire: Police

WOODMERE, NY — A house fire in the Five Towns led to the injuries of two firefighters, police said.

The Woodmere Fire Department, along with other departments, responded to the home on Mosher Avenue, on Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. Flames were seen pouring out of the back of the house.

All residents were safely evacuated, police said.

Two firefighters, who were injured battling the blaze, refused medical attention, police said. There were no other injuries.

The building sustained smoke, fire and water damage throughout the home, police said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Detectives were called to the scene. Fire officials have not determined the cause, but the police said it is not considered suspicious.

The investigation is ongoing.
