  1. John Valenti reports that police investigated a bomb threat at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream hospital on Wednesday afternoon. James A. Dever Elementary School in Valley Stream was briefly placed on lockdown, as a precaution. No evacuations were ordered. The call occurred at 1:17 p.m. (Subscription: Newsday)
  2. News 12 Long Island tells us that officials say Nassau County has hit an adult vaccination rate (at least one dose) of 90 percent, making it the most vaccinated county in New York State. The rate is 11 percent above the state average and 15 percent over the national rate. (News 12)
  3. Jerry Barmash previews a street fair coming to Bellmore. The annual Bellmore Street Fair is scheduled for Sept. 23 to 26: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. (Patch)
  4. The LI Herald looks at how some nearby restaurants and business owners are reporting they are still finding it hard to fill out jobs. These Lynbrook employers say they've had to cut back operating hours because they are short-staffed. (LI Herald)
