Lawrence Duo Displaced By Monday Morning Fire: Fire Marshal

The fire broke out at 4:40 a.m. Monday, fire officials say.

LAWRENCE, NY. — Two Lawrence residents are out of their home Monday after it was seriously damaged in an early morning fire, fire officials said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal said the fire broke out at 4:40 a.m. at a home on Bayberry Road, with response coming from the Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Hewlett, Long Beach, Inwood, Woodmere and Rockville Centre fire departments, as well as Hatzola EMS. In total, 75 firefighters were on the scene, officials said.

The fire took 70 minutes to bring under control, officials said, and its cause is being investigated by the fire marshal’s office investigators and Nassau County police arson/bomb detectives. The Village of Lawrence building department is also evaluating the damage to the house, the fire marshal’s office said.

No injuries were reported to any of the firefighters or to any civilians, the fire marshal’s office said.
