LIRR Adds Extra Friday Train for Holiday Weekend
MTA will accommodate people who want to get an early start on weekend getaways.
There will be additional early-afternoon train service from Penn Station on Friday for people planning to travel on the holiday weekend, the Long Island Rail Road said in a release.
On the Far Rockaway branch, there will be a 3:48 p.m. express train to Locust Manor then all stops to Far Rockaway, according to the LIRR.
The LIRR will be operating on a weekend schedule on July 2 and 3 and a Sunday/holiday schedule on July 4.
