Man Displays Knife During Argument At Valley Stream Gym: Police
Edwin Cortez faces charges that include second-degree menacing, police said.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested on Tuesday night after an argument escalated and a knife was displayed, police said.
Edwin Cortez, 47, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, police said.
Cortez was at the 24-Hour Fitness on West Sunrise Highway, when he got into an argument with a 40-year-old man, police said. Cortez was arrested at the scene without incident, authorities said.

There were no injuries.
Cortez was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
