Nassau Man Goes On Crime Spree, Assaulting Man, Stealing Car And Attacking Officer: Police
The man attacked a man in his home, crashed a stolen car into an occupied vehicle, struck an officer in the face, and more, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A man was arrested in connection with several incidents, including robbery, theft and assaulting a police officer, in Valley Stream on Sunday morning, Nassau police said.
Jonathan Louissaint, 32, of Valley Stream, unlawfully entered a home on Forest Avenue around 9:15 a.m. and punched a 24-year-old man in the face and struck his hand with a metal bar, police said.
Louissaint then went to a nearby 7-Eleven, at 100 Sunrise Highway, where he struck a 35-year-old man on the hand with a beer can, police said.

Louissaint left the 7-Eleven and tried to enter multiple occupied vehicles in the area, police said. He then got into an unoccupied 2020 Hyundai which was parked and running on Rockaway Parkway, police said. He drove away, eventually crashing into a 2020 Toyota occupied by a 29-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man on New Hyde Park Road near Auburn Street, police said. He also struck a parked car, which then damaged a business sign, police said.
While being placed under arrest at the scene of the crash, Louissaint became combative and struck an officer in the face, injuring him, police said.

The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. The two occupants of the Toyota were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, police said.
All other victims declined further medical attention, police said.
Louissaint was charged with one count of first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree assault, one count of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree attempted robbery, one count of third-degree grand larceny, one count of first-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of third-degree attempted grand larceny, one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief, and multiple vehicle traffic law violations.
He is set to be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
