  1. The mechanic who was convicted of murdering a co-worker in a Glen Head body shop was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison this week. Lawrence Grammer, 74, was convicted in June for the 2018 shooting of Bashir "Bobby" Ward, 35, from Valley Stream. (Subscription: Newsday)
  2. ABC News reports that Nassau and Suffolk counties lead New York State in automobile deaths, and many experts see excessive speed and reckless driving as factors. (WABC-TV)
  3. A 40-year-old Elmont woman was arrested on Long Island for allegedly driving while intoxicated with two children in the car. Jacqueline Lopez was arrested on Saturday. (Daily Voice)
  4. Nassau County legislators will vote today on a plan by County Executive Laura Curran to send county checks of $375 to homeowners using federal pandemic aid.
