Two disturbing incidents at a Hicksville mosque may be bias crimes, police say. Nassau Police are also looking for information about a beating at a New Hyde Park party earlier this month. The GOP candidate for Nassau County District Attorney got the nod from Nassau detectives. And Long Beach will put on a fireworks show to end the summer.

- News 12 Long Island looks at two attacks at a Hicksville mosque that police are investigating as a possible hate crime. On Aug. 13 a man dumped dirt in the entrance and recently a man appeared making strange comments at Faizan-e-Aisha Masjid on Heitz Place. (News 12)
