Mosque Hate Attack + Labor Day Fireworks

Happy Saturday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know to get this day started. These are the most important things going on around town today.

Two disturbing incidents at a Hicksville mosque may be bias crimes, police say. Nassau Police are also looking for information about a beating at a New Hyde Park party earlier this month. The GOP candidate for Nassau County District Attorney got the nod from Nassau detectives. And Long Beach will put on a fireworks show to end the summer.

1. News 12 Long Island looks at two attacks at a Hicksville mosque that police are investigating as a possible hate crime. On Aug. 13 a man dumped dirt in the entrance and recently a man appeared making strange comments at Faizan-e-Aisha Masjid on Heitz Place. (News 12)
