Nassau Target Robbed; Store Officer Shoved: Police

Angel Rodriguez fled with items hidden in his shirt and pants, police said.

NORTH LAWRENCE, NY — A man was arrested on Tuesday for a robbery at the Target store in North Lawrence, police said.

Just after 5:30 p.m., Angel Rodriguez, 43, of Queens, entered the store on Rockaway Boulevard and hid several items under his shirt and pants, police said.

He exited the store without paying. Loss prevention officers confronted Rodriguez who shoved the employee before he fled.

An investigation led officers to locate Rodriguez nearby and he was placed under arrest without further incident, authorities said.

Rodriguez is charged with third-degree robbery, petty larceny, obstructing governmental administration and tampering with physical evidence, police said.

He was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
