Officers Assaulted During Arrest Of Nassau Man: PD
Gurvinder Singh also faces charges of aggravated DWI and DWI, police said.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Floral Park man was arrested an assault that took place early Friday in Valley Stream, police said.
Just before 1:30 a.m., a black 2022 Lincoln SUV blocked traffic in the eastbound lanes of Hendrickson Avenue near Fletcher Avenue, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Gurvinder Singh, 33, had bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol coming from his breath, police said. A field sobriety test was positive.

While attempted to place Singh under arrest, officers sustained injuries as he got violent and combative, authorities said.
Two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

Singh is charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, aggravated DWI, DWI, operating a motor vehicle .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, police said. He was expected to be arraigned on Friday.
