Spate of Car Break-ins Hits the Five Towns, July 1-8

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

The Fourth Precinct reports the following incidents of theft and mischief:

  • An unknown suspect(s) on June 18 stole a bicycle from a Briar Place shed in Woodmere.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 1 and 2 removed money from a vehicle that was parked on East Broadway in Woodmere. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 1 and 2 entered a vehicle that was parked on Carman Avenue in Woodmere. No property was reported stolen and there was no damage to the vehicle.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 2 took sunglasses and money from a vehicle that was parked on Elm Street in Woodmere. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 2 and 3 took money from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in Woodsburgh.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 2 and 3 scratched a vehicle that was parked on Chestnut Street in Cedarhurst.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 3 removed a portable radio from a vehicle that was parked on Briar Place in Woodmere. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 3 stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Rockaway Turnpike in Meadowmere.

  • A complainant reported to police that on July 3, while shopping at the Conway on Rockaway Turnpike, she left her pocketbook unattended for a short period of time and then found it missing.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 4 stole credit cards from a vehicle that was parked on Buckingham Road in Cedarhurst. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 4 entered a vehicle that was parked on Mulry Lane in Lawrence and attempted to remove the radio from the dashboard.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 3 and 5 broke two windows and one door at Footprint Transportation at 600 Bayview Ave. in Inwood.

  • An unknown suspect(s) on July 5 damaged the screen of a Buffalo Avenue front door in East Atlantic Beach.

  • An unknown suspect(s) between July 5 and 6 entered a vehicle that was parked on Cedar Avenue in Hewlett Bay Park. No loss or damage was reported.

  • An unknown suspect on July 7 took an iPad and eyeglass case from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the Bay Harbour Mall in North Lawrence.

  • The Fourth Precinct said the following individuals were arrested and charged with shoplifting:

    • Monique Wallace, 21, and Lillith Gordon-Powell, both of Brooklyn, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on July 1

  • Leba Toussaint, 31, of Jamaica, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on July 2

  • Kayona Jackson Brown, 23, of Springfield Gardens, at the H&M in Green Acres Mall on July 3

  • Evens Dominique, 29, of Deer Park, at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on July 4

  • Lamarie Fortune Jr., 50, of Hollis, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on July 4

  • Marie Palmieri, 63, of Howard Beach, at the Macy’s in Green Acres Mall on July 5

  • Adrianne Swanson, 23, of College Point, at the Sears in Green Acres Mall on July 5

  • Francisca Almonte, 44, of Malverne, at the Costco in North Lawrence on July 7

  • Reginald Demosthene, 41, of Hollis, at the Costco in North Lawrence on July 7

  • Marina Smolyaninova, 46, of Brooklyn, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on July 7

  • Monica Davis, 17, of Rosedale, and Brandy Burt, 17, of Brooklyn, at the JC Penney in Green Acres Mall on July 7

  • Brushina Denny, 21, of Brooklyn, and Nickeisha Wright, 22, of Rosedale, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on July 8

  • Jason Moise, 22, of Jamaica, at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on July 8

  • Marni Hazan, 21, of Hewlett, was arrested on July 4 and charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and resisting arrest at West Beech Street and Tennessee Avenue in Long Beach.

    Robert Goner, 49, of Atlantic Beach, was arrested on July 6 and charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident at Arizona Avenue and West Beech Street in Long Beach.
