Woman Assaults Nassau Crossing Guard With Ice: Police
The woman also threatened to kill the arresting officers, police said.
HEWLETT, NY — A woman was arrested following an incident involving a school crossing guard in Hewlett on Thursday morning, police said.
The woman, Dominga Rudder, 46, without a known address, approached the crossing guard and started yelling at her. As it escalated, Rudder threw several pieces of ice at the woman's leg, police said.
Rudder fled on foot and was located a short time later by police near the intersection of Broadway and Rockaway Avenue, authorities said.

No other injuries were reported. While officers were processing the arrest at the precinct, Rudder said she would kill the officers and knew where the precinct was located, police said.
She faces charges that include second-degree assault, second-degree menacing, second-degree harassment and making a terrorist threat, police said. She will be arraigned on Friday.
