Woman Knocked Out And Robbed In Flushing, Police Say

The suspects made off with her cell phone, credit cards and $2,000 in cash, according to the NYPD.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- The NYPD is looking for two suspects who struck a woman in the head and stole her purse while she was knocked out, police told Patch.

The 59-year-old woman was walking to her home in Flushing on Nov. 18 at around 9:30 p.m. when two suspects approached her from behind on 33rd Avenue near Union Street. The woman was hit in the head with an unknown object that knocked her unconscious, an NYPD spokesman said. She awoke to find they had made off with her purse, including the cell phone, three credit cards and $2,000 in cash inside it, police said.

Police said one of the suspects, a woman, tried to use one of the stolen credit cards at around 2 a.m. the next day. She attempted to charge a $7.79 purchase to the card at a Rite Aid at 186-16 Union Turnpike, authorities said.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the woman inside the Rite Aid. She was last seen wearing a black hat, a black hooded coat, black pants and black shoes, police said.
