FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Organizers postponed a three-day concert meant to combat climate change that would have brought artists such as Sheryl Crow and the Flaming Lips to Forest Hills.

The Big Climate Thing, initially scheduled for Sept. 16-18 at Forest Hills Stadium, was canceled earlier this week, according to a social media announcement and the venue's website.

"Collectively, we felt that if we couldn’t produce the event in a way that met the high standards for participation, impact and sustainability that are the foundation of The Big Climate Thing, then it was the responsible choice to postpone until we can," the announcement reads.

"Compared with the climate emergency itself, a concert postponement is hardly important news."

The new date will be some time in 2023, according to the Big Climate Thing organizers.

Fans who bought tickets through AXs or a credit card will see money refunded automatically, organizers said.

The Big Climate Thing would have been a three-day music concert with "immersive on-site activations"and curated content.

The goal was to raise awareness.

"Compared with the climate emergency itself, a concert postponement is hardly important news," the cancellation announcement reads. "If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the climate crisis it’s that one must adapt to survive."
