Central Queens to Offer Balance Training Classes

Program beginning in September will help to prevent adults from dangerous falls.

The Central Queens Y will offer balance training classes this fall to help prevent Queens adults from dangerous falls.

The series of 15 classes will be held every Tuesday beginning on Sept. 10.

Section one of the classes will run from 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., while the second section will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the third section will begin at 1:40 p.m. and end at 2:40 p.m.

The class will cost $87 for Y members and $128 for non-members. Registration has begun and space is limited.

The aim of the program is to help adults develop muscles that allow them to stay stable and upright as well correct patterns of movement.

The class is meant to improve balance, posture and gait.

Those with walkers and canes are encouraged to sign up for section three, where they will receive extra assistance.

The Central Queens Y is located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills.
