Chip City Van Parked On Austin Street Ahead Of Dec. Store Opening
Until Chip City's Forest Hills shop opens in mid-Dec., it will sell giant, gooey cookies out of a van parked on Austin Street once a week.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A truck full of giant, gooey cookies is setting up on Austin Street.
Chip City, a local chain known for its oversized cookies that come in an array of fun flavors, is parking its dessert van on the corner of Austin Street and Continental Avenue on Thursdays.
The truck sells cookies from 11 a.m. until it sells out, which is usually in a matter of hours, though a Chip City spokesperson said that people can stay on top of truck updates through the cookie chain's Instagram stories.

Similar to other Chip City stores, the van will stock four cookie flavors per-day that rotate out on a regular basis. Details on the week's flavors are also posted on Instagram.
The weekly truck is a precursor to a more permanent setup in Forest Hills. By the end of 2021, likely in mid-Dec., Chip City plans to open a brick-and-mortar shop at 72-34 Austin Street, the spokesperson told Patch.

The new outpost will be Chip City's first in central Queens, but hardly its first in the borough: Chip City's flagship location is in Astoria, and it has three other shops in northwest Queens, in addition to five locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
By early next year that list will include another Chip City store in Bayside, a spokesperson told Patch. The cookie chain is also planning to open locations in Tribeca and Newark, New Jersey soon.
