City to Spray for West Nile Virus on July 30
The Department of Health will drop pesticide on several communities bordering Forest Hills.

The city’s Department of Health will spray for mosquitoes in several communities bordering Forest Hills on July 30.
The spraying will be conducted between 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 a.m. the following morning.
Neighborhoods that will be sprayed for West Nile Virus include Rego Park, Fresh Meadows, Flushing, Kissena Park, Pomonok, Murray Hill, Queensboro Hill, Maspeth, Ridgewood and Middle Village.

In case of bad weather, the spraying will be pushed back to July 31 during the same hours.
The pesticide that will be dropped on the communities is Anvil 10+10 (Sumithrin).

The city recommends staying indoors during the spraying, especially for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions. Air conditioners can remain on, but residents should close their vents.
Additionally, children’s toys or clothes should not be left outdoors during the spraying.
