Forest Hills 2023 Election Results: Lynn Schulman Declares Victory
Schulman had nearly 68 percent of votes in the race for the District 29 seat, according to preliminary results.

NEW YORK CITY — Incumbent Democrat Lynn Schulman declared victory for Forest Hills City Council seat.
Schulman's declaration was confirmed minutes later by NY1, which projected she'd win the race for the District 29 seat.
She had 67.9 percent of the vote compared to Republican Danniel Maio's 27.7 percent and independent Sukhi Singh's 4.3 percent, according to NY1.

“To the residents of Forest Hills, Richmond Hill, Kew Gardens, and Rego Park: I promise to fight for you regardless of who you are, whom you voted for, and whether I have represented you in the past," Schulman said in a statement.
"The fact that I grew up right here in our community makes this commitment even more personal to me. Public service is a distinct honor and responsibility, and I am looking forward to championing the issues important to Queens for two more years and beyond.”

Schulman, a prominent legislator and LGBTQ activist, was widely expected to prevail.
Besides the Council race, Forest Hills voters cast ballots for a borough-wide, three-way contest for Queens district attorney between Democratic incumbent Melinda Katz, Republican Michael Mossa and Public Safety candidate George A. Grasso.
Katz came into the race as a heavy favorite.
