Crime Drops 9.5 Percent in 112th Precinct in July

The number of grand larceny incidents dropped, but there were slight increases in five of the other major crime categories.

Crime dropped 9.5 percent in the 112th Precinct in July, but the number of incidents decreased in only one of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

The number of grand larceny incidents dropped from 45 in July 2012 to 31 during the same amount of time this year.

There were no murders in the precinct during the past month, but one rape occurred. No rapes were reported in the precinct in July 2012.

The precinct experienced slight increases in the four other crime categories. The number of robberies was up to nine incidents in July from eight incidents during the same time period in 2012.

Burglaries were up from 11 incidents in July 2012 to 14 incidents during the past month. And the number of felony assault increased to six incidents this past month from five incidents in July 2012.
