Drunk Driver Cuffed Months After New Years Crash Near Forest Hills: PD
A 28-year-old woman from Jersey City was arrested on Wednesday, 10 months after crashing on the Jackie Robinson Parkway, police announced.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS —A New Jersey woman was arrested on drunk driving charges 10 months after crashing into a Jackie Robinson Parkway road sign in the early hours of New Year's Day, police announced Wednesday.
Vanessa Ramos, 28, stands accused of crashing her speeding SUV on the Queens parkway near Woodhaven Boulevard shortly after 7 a.m., according to the NYPD.
Ramos was charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault, reckless driving, and speed violation, the NYPD said.

Two other people were in the 2018 Hyundai with Ramos as she sped down the Jackie Robinson Parkway, missed a curve and lost control, police said.
The SUV hit the roadway sign, smashed into tree with enough force to send it spinning to a stop, police said.

Medics rushed Ramos and her passengers to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, police said.
One of the passengers, a 27-year old woman, suffered severe internal injuries, police said.
