Forest Hills Bagelry Among NYC's Most Popular Bagel Shops: Data

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A Forest Hills bagel shop is among New Yorkers' go-tos for getting bagels, according to a new study.

Forest Hills Bagels, located at 10441 Queens Boulevard, received the fourth-most bagel orders out of all the city's bagel shops in 2021, according to newly-released Grubhub data.

This isn't the first time the bagel store's made headlines: last year it was ranked among the best bagel shops in NYC, and (in less exemplary news) the shop's manager, Luis Diaz, spoke out about how December's citywide cream cheese shortage impacted the shop.

Grubhub found that New Yorkers' favorite bagel flavor is everything, followed by cinnamon, onion, and blueberry — all of which are on the menu at Forest Hills Bagels.

For New Yorkers who prefer bagel sandwiches, most go for the classic bacon egg and cheese or lox with scallion spread, Grubhub says. Egg and cheese bagels (for the meat averse), or B.L.T sandwiches (for the meat lovers) are the next most-popular orders, data shows.

Iterations of these, and an array of other classic sandwich fillings like egg-salad and whitefish, are on Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company's sandwich menu, too.

Queens residents who need a bagel in the northwest or northeast part of the borough can also have a superb bagel: Whitestone's Utopia Bagels is the city's most popular bagel shop, and Astoria's Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company comes in at third spot, according to Grubhub.

Wherever you get your bagels, don't forget to order one on National Bagel Day, which is Saturday, Jan. 15.
