Forest Hills Dance Project For Dementia Patients Gets Funds

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A nonprofit dance group was granted over $2,000 to fund a project that helps people living with dementia in Forest Hills.

DanceStream Projects received $2,500 from the arts council of Flushing Town Hall to support the project “Stories in the Moment: Our Portraits.”

The project will connect city artists with people living with dementia in Forest Hills to create a dance-on-film portrait that features the stories of this community.

DanceStream Projects will announce the date of the public event showcasing the cinematographic projects.

The nonprofit joins 39 other groups that received the same amount of funds throughout Queens.

The Astoria Film Festival, Centro Cultural Barco de Papel, Woodside on the Move, and others were among the recipients.
