FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — New York City Transit President, Richard Davey, will visit the Forest Hills community on Thursday to listen to residents' concerns over service, future projects, and more.

Davey will be at the Forest Hills-71 Av station on March 30 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. as part of the MTA's “TransitTalk" program, which launched in June 2022.

District Manager at Community Board 6, Frank Gulluscio, said the board wasn't notified of the president's visit, but he encourages community members to voice their concerns at the meeting.

"People should go and hopefully they identify their grievances to Mr. Davis," Gulluscio told Patch. "We need people there."

The visit comes as Forest Hills and Rego Park contend with a series of transportation and mobility issues with the Long Island Rail Road service.

Service between Kew and Forest Hills was non-existent earlier this month, and early-morning train service and late-afternoon service at stations in Kew Gardens and Forest Hills were also disrupted.

“TransitTalk” aims to promote a face-to-face dialogue between customers and NYC Transit leadership. The first event launched on June 22, 2022, at 3 Av-138 St Station in Manhattan.

“New Yorkers are passionate about the subway and it’s time to prove to them we are listening and actually doing something about it," Davey said last year. "By going out to individual stations, we can listen to and learn directly from the people who know these locations best.”
