FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A Catholic school in Forest Hills will host an event later next week to highlight the dozens of countries that encompass the student body.
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy will celebrate “International Night” on Saturday, Jan. 28, for families and parishioners to showcase food that belongs to the students’ cultures.
“We’re going to showcase foods from around the world, highlighting what our student heritages are,” Dana McCann, the school principal, told Patch.

The academy’s student body represents over 40 countries, McCann said.
The celebration will include a buffet-style meal and will have drinks for sale.

The event is closed to the general public, but McCann said she hopes to change that in future years.
