More than 500 people turned out for event in Forest Hills.

Forestdale hosted its annual fair on Aug. 29, drawing more than 500 local residents to take part in a day of fun, food, games and back to school-related activities.

The event included a barbecue, bouncy house, face painting, balloon animals, raffles, prizes and information booths sponsored by health and community organizations, which handed out literature to families.

Every child who attended the fair received a new backpack filled with school supplies from donations by Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, Minuteman Press and UNO Chicago Grill.
