Hike and Yoga Getaway, CB 6 Meeting Highlight Week in Forest Hills

Monday

Today is the first day of school for New York City's public schools. Check out Patch's list of important dates for the school year.

Thursday

Community Board 6 will host its first meeting of the fall at 7:45 p.m. at 80-02 Kew Gardens Road, Suite 202.

Friday

The Forest Hills Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will host La Leche League at 2 p.m. The class provides information and support for mothers who breastfeed.

Saturday

Forest Hills' Bamboo Moves, located at 107-40 Queens Blvd., is hosting a hiking and yoga escape to the outdoors at Harriman State Park. Departure will be at 8:30 a.m. and attendees will return at 5:30 p.m. Those interested should bring snacks and lunch, two to three liters of water and a swimsuit and towel if they plan on swimming in the lake.
