FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — This Sunday is the last chance for Forest Hills residents to spend time hiking outdoors while beautifying local green spaces.

The Parks Department is hosting its final Hike and Pick program on Sunday, July 25.

The free event, which kicks off at 10 a.m., includes a guided walk through Forest Park's 1.7 mile long Blue Trail, which doubles as a chance for park-goers to pick up trash.

Another recurrent volunteer trash pickup event in Forest Park is the Parks Department's Litter Ambassadors program, which hosts cleanups through October.

As a volunteer Litter Ambassador people hand out garbage bags to park-goers around Forest Park, and help clean up around the park's picnic and BBQ areas.
