LIRR Cuts Some Trains on Babylon Line to Allow for East Side Access
Some service changes will be in effect through Aug. 16.

There will be service changes on the Long Island Rail Road’s Babylon branch for several weeks to allow for construction on the East Side Access project, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The Babylon line makes stops in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens.
The eastbound 6:05 p.m. train leaving Penn Station for Wantagh will be temporarily canceled, but straphangers can pick up the 6:10 p.m. train leaving Penn for Freeport.

The 6:33 p.m. eastbound train from Penn to Babylon is also temporarily canceled, but riders can take the 6:36 p.m. from Penn to Wantagh.
The service changes began this week and will run through Aug. 16.

Additionally, cuts were made along the Babylon branch to allow for the MTA to construct a concrete track slab in its Harold Interlocking.
