Lost Celebrity Walk Of Fame Rediscovered In Forest Hills: Report
Celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand handprinted slabs in front of the once-Forest Hills Inn, which were missing until now.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A years-long quest to track down Forest Hills' once-celebrity walk of fame is now partially solved, according to a new report.
The slabs of concrete in question were handprinted by the likes of Buddy Hackett, Trini Lopez, and Herb Alpert in the 1960s, when athletes and performers stayed at the Forest Hills Inn before shows or tournaments at the neighborhood's nearby stadium.
When the inn turned into apartment buildings though, the estimated 15 to 20 slabs got lost in the shuffle; until earlier this month, when a handful of the slabs were found in a nearby garage, and are now on display at the Forest Hills Stadium, NY1 reported.

"We were able to track these down and put together a little clue to go pick them up locally," Jason Brandt, general manager of the Forest Hills Stadium, told NY1, adding that its "super exciting to get a real piece of history here."
While the mystery of some of the slabs has been solved, Michael Perlman, chairperson of the Rego-Forest Preservation Council whose been looking for the slabs for the past six years, is still on the hunt for dozens more.
