Turnstile Jumper Killed In Forest Hills Subway Mishap: NYPD
The man lost his balance while jumping a turnstile at the Forest Hills-71st Ave station, and smashed his head into the floor, video shows.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A young man died after jumping over a Forest Hills subway turnstile on Saturday, police said.
Around 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 2nd, Christopher De La Cruz entered the Forest Hills-71st Avenue train station and tried to jump over a turnstile, according to a video and NYPD records.
After several failed attempts, De La Cruz partially hoisted himself over the turnstile, before losing his balance and flipping over, his head crashing into the concrete floor, the video shows.

Police said that the 28-year-old Jackson Heights resident was pronounced dead on the scene; his cause of death has not yet been determined by the medical examiner, but multiple outlets contend that De La Cruz broke his neck.
