Person Fatally Struck By LIRR Train In Forest Hills, FDNY Says
A person was hit and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train near the Forest Hills station Tuesday morning, FDNY and MTA officials said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A person was hit and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train near the Forest Hills station Tuesday morning, according to FDNY and MTA officials.
The person was struck about 10:30 a.m. by the LIRR train from Hicksville due at Penn Station at 10:33 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesperson and a tweet by LIRR officials.
First responders pronounced the individual dead.

Westbound LIRR trains are bypassing Kew Gardens, Forest Hills and Woodside, as of 10:45 a.m. Port Washington service is not affected at Woodside.
Commuters may transfer to the subway at Jamaica, Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike, Forest Hills-71st Avenue or Woodside-61st Street at no additional charge, the MTA said in a tweet.
