KEW GARDENS, QUEENS — A person died after jumping in front of a train at the Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike station on Thursday morning, prompting delays between Queens and Manhattan, city agencies announced.

Emergency teams rushed to the subway to respond to the incident at about 9:40 a.m., the MTA said.

The straphanger was found dead on the tracks, according to the NYPD, who confirmed that the person jumped in front of the train.

As a result, E, F, M, and R trains are running with delays in both directions, according to the MTA.

Some E and F trains headed into Manhattan will stop in northwest Queens and F trains are running express from Parsons Boulevard to Forest Hills-71st Avenue, skipping the Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike station, the transit agency said.
