Forest Hills Agenda: Movie Screening and Nature Walk
The film 'Kumare' will be shown on Saturday and an all-day walk to Harriman State Park will be held on Sunday.

The weekend is almost here, so let’s take a look at some of the events taking place around your community between Friday and Sunday.
Friday – Watch an Independent Film at Kew Gardens Cinemas
Catch one of the current crop of independent movies playing at nearby Kew Gardens Cinemas. Films screening this weekend include “Girl Most Likely,” “Fruitvale Station,” “Nicky’s Family,” “Still Mine,” “The Way, Way Back,” “I’m So Excited” and “The Attack.”

Saturday – Donation Movie Night
Drop by Bamboomoves, located at 107-40 Queens Blvd., Suite 206, at 6 p.m. for a screening of the film “Kumare,” a documentary about a man falsely posing as a guru. There will be a $5 minimum donation to attend the event.

Sunday – Hiking and Yoga
Jen and Evan Oppenheimer, who are licensed state guides, are leading a hike to Harriman State Park, which is 30 minutes outside of the city. Those interested in attending should wear hiking boots and comfortable clothing and bring food and water. Participants should meet in front of Bamboomoves, located at 107-40 Queens Blvd. Departure time is 8:30 a.m. The walk is considered a moderate hike. Return time is 5:30 p.m.
