Thursday: Picture Book Time at the Library, A Day at the Races

The Forest Hills Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will offer its Picture Book Time for children, ages 3 to 5 years, at 3:30 p.m. today.
Attendees will listen to stories, rhymes and singing as well as take part in movement games. Preregistration is required.
The Bayside Business Association, Bayside Kiwanis and Bayside Historical Society will host "A Day at the Races" at the Belmont Racetrack's Turf and Field Club.The event, which honors former state Sen. Frank Padavan, will cost $75 per person and include a lunch buffet and nine races.
