UPDATE: Suspect Eludes Police at Clinton-Washington Av Station

Search shut down service on A/C line for approximately an hour Tuesday afternoon.

Update, 5:54 p.m.: Police confirmed that it was a search for a suspect spilling onto the tracks at Clinton-Washington Av station that tied up A/C line service this afternoon.

The suspect was not found, according to police.

Update, 3:47 p.m.: A/C line service has resumed between Jay St.-MetroTech and Broadway Junction after an earlier police investigation at Clinton Washington Av station, according to the MTA.

MTA tells straphangers to expect residual delays.

Update, 3:05 p.m.: A spokeswoman for the MTA confirmed that the police investigation is at Clinton-Washington Av station, despite an update on the agency's website listing Lafayette Av as the location.

Service continues to be suspended along a large section of the A/C line through Brooklyn.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority suspended service Tuesday afternoon between Jay St.-MetroTech and Broadway Junction on the A/C line due to a police investigation at Clinton-Washington Av station.

According to the MTA, the shutdown is due to an "unauthorized person" on the tracks.

At this time, shuttle bus service between affected stations is not available, according to MTA. Straphangers are urged to use an alternate route.
