FT. GREENE, BROOKLYN - The Afropunk Festival is coming to Brooklyn this month. Here's what you need to know.
What's the Afropunk Fest?
The fest began in 2005 as a space for black people to rock out to punk culture. James Spooners' documentary "Afro-Punk" is considered an inspiration for the event. It's grown to encompass performance art, a craft market and food trucks along with big-name musical acts.

Who's playing this year?
Performers include Solange, Anderson .Paak, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Clark Jr., Kaytranada, Macy Gray, Michael Kiwanuka, Soul II Soul, SZA and Thundercat. Find a full list of artists here.

When's the fest?
Saturday, Aug. 26 – Sunday, Aug. 27.
Where is it?
Commodore Barry Park.
How much are tickets?
Tickets cost $55 for just Sunday, $90 for the weekend and $150 for a VIP package, plus fees. The opportunity to earn a ticket by volunteering is now over.
