On Friday night, the following recipients of the 2011 Samuel H. Scripps BAM Scholarship were announced at a ceremony that marked the beginning of the 34th Annual , which ends Monday:
- Mohammed Ali
- Camille Bailey
- Sara Deberry
- Daouda Diarra
- Jose Rodriguez-Alverio
- Valencia Springer
Recipients of the award will receive assistance in their college-level studies in dance or theater.
