Bolivian Eatery Opening Up Inside Fort Greene Food Hall

Bolivian Llama Party will open up their first sit-down location inside Gotham Market at The Ashland

FORT GREENE, NY — A Bolivian eatery serving up salteñas and sandwiches plans to open up their first sit-down location inside a Fort Greene food hall that recently shuttered more than half of its vendors.

Bolivian Llama Party will take over 16,000-square-feet of space inside the Gotham Market in The Ashland, at 590 Fulton St., later this month, joining new vendors Hungry Ghost and Fulton Hall in the spot, operators announced Tuesday.

"Being of Bolivian heritage, we believe that sitting down for a good meal is as much a social experience as it is a culinary one," Patrick Oropeza, chef of Bolivian Llama Party, said in a statement. "We want everyone who visits us to feel like they’re at home."

The Gotham Market opened in the ground-floor of the luxury high rise The Ashland in 2017, butnixed four of its six eateries nearly a year after opening, including anchor tenant Mason Jar.

Operators announced that Fulton Hall — which will have 20 beers on tap, wings and more — will take over as the anchor along with coffee shop's Hungry Ghost's third location in the Fort Greene.

Bolivian Llama Party first started serving up salteñas in 2012 as a pop-up shop inside the Smorgasburg outdoor food market. The owners later opened their first permanent outpost in 2016 in Manhattan's Turnstyle Underground Market.
