Brooklyn Writer Selling Used Starbucks Cup on eBay

Only one week left to bid.

Brooklyn comedy writer Greg Dorris, who lives in Park Slope, went viral this week when he posted a pic of his Starbucks cup on Twitter.

“Guys does this say Greg or Corey,” he wrote — a comment on his barista’s handwriting, as sloppy as Starbucks tradition dictates yet delightfully versatile.

Buzzfeed re-Tweeted it. The Daily Mail picked it up and branded it the second coming of #TheDress. The rest is history.

“After a lengthy (though one-sided) series of emails with Sotheby’s, I have decided to make the cup available on Ebay,” he wrote.

As of press time, a total of 13 bidders had pushed the going price up to $14.50. (Which is still a good Hamilton higher than the price of the “grande cold brew iced coffee with whole milk” that Dorris purchased at a Starbucks in Midtown Manhattan.)

As advertised on eBay:

Greg decided to post a picture of the cup on the Twitter.com and before he was even finished drinking the coffee, the post when viral. It is now a certified internet sensation on par with or greater than #TheDress.

Have at it. With your help, one Brooklyn comedy writer can reap the benefits of going viral long after the Internet forgets.
