Cops Hunt for Brooklyn Parents of Baby Locked in Hotel Safe

Canadian police are searching for a Brooklyn couple whose baby was locked in a hotel safe in Niagara Falls.

The family was staying at a Howard Johnson Tuesday morning when the parents asked the staff for help because their baby was locked in the hotel room’s safe, NBC News reported.

Niagara Regional Police said the public should be on the lookout for a gray Ford van with the New Jersey license plate B31EUB.

A maintenance worker freed the baby after 20 minutes, but the “quite distraught” parents checked out of the hotel with the child before police were called, The Toronto Star reported.

Niagara police Detective Amanda Sanders said that it is ”possible” the baby was somehow able to lock itself in the safe, NBC reported.

Authorities want to make sure the baby is okay.

Niagara police have alerted U.S. police and authorities from both countries have flagged the vehicle in their systems, The Toronto Star reported.
