Downtown Brooklyn Partnership Seeking Proposals For Kiosks

The new Willoughby Plaza and Albee Square are searching for the perfect food or beverage places to set up shop.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY —The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is looking for proposals from restaurants, retail and other companies to operate food and drink kiosks at two new locations in Downtown Brooklyn — Willoughby Plaza and Kalbee Square.

The Partnership is asking for creative proposals for kiosks that will take up around 100 square feet and will be designed in collaboration with urban design firm WXY Studio.

“We are looking for great entrepreneurs to join the neighborhood and take full advantage of the area’s growth,” said Downtown Brooklyn Partnership President Regina Myer. “Right in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn – with easy access to public transport, fantastic shopping, educational and cultural institutions and booming residential communities – these kiosks are perfectly situated for cutting edge food and beverage operators.”

The Partnership "hopes to capture the diversity and originality of local fare and contribute to the neighborhood’s burgeoning reputation as a culinary destination comprising longtime favorites like Junior’s and Queen, and groundbreaking newcomers such as the Lady’s, Gotham Market, The Wei, Grand Army and the soon to open DeKalb Market," it said in a press release.

Responses will be evaluated based on their fee, operating experience, planned operations and financial capability, and the "quality and uniqueness" of existing food and beverage operations.
